Who it is for

Grant consultancy for charities and mission-led organisations.

For charities, nonprofits, social enterprises and other mission-led organisations seeking grant consultancy, funding strategy or additional application capacity.

You may have a small team balancing many responsibilities, an emerging funding pipeline or an experienced fundraiser who needs extra support. We start by understanding what would be useful to you.

What the partnership includes

A more structured approach to grant funding.

Ongoing expert support tailored to your organisation’s funding priorities. We agree where to focus across five areas.

Understand your organisation

Good funding work starts with your mission.

We review your strategy, programmes, beneficiaries, reports, existing funding and previous applications. Conversations with your team help identify strengths, evidence gaps and capacity before application work begins.

Develop your funding strategy

A considered plan, rather than a longer list.

Explore relevant trusts, foundations, institutional donors and public grant programmes. Together, we assess eligibility and strategic fit, prioritise opportunities and plan realistic application timelines.

Grant writing and application support

Turn your work into a clear, evidenced case.

Get agreed drafting and review support: interpret funder requirements, shape project narratives, identify missing evidence and review budgets with your finance lead. Your team reviews and approves the content.

Keep your pipeline moving

Build continuity between funding deadlines.

Review upcoming opportunities, track deadlines and application progress, and identify follow-on funding. Learn from outcomes and adapt priorities as your organisation’s needs change.

Stay focused and accountable

Know what is happening, and what comes next.

Agree priorities, deliverables and a regular planning and review cadence. Receive progress updates and visibility into work completed and how your consultancy time is being used.

How it works

From an initial conversation to ongoing progress.

  1. Let’s understand your funding needs

Start with a consultation about your organisation, current funding activity, challenges and goals. We discuss whether the partnership is a suitable fit.

  2. Get to know your organisation

Your expert reviews your strategy, reports, programmes and previous bids, alongside conversations with your team. This groundwork takes time; applications do not necessarily start in the first week.

  3. Build your funding plan

Identify and prioritise suitable opportunities. Agree immediate priorities, upcoming deadlines and the activities that need support.

  4. Work together on applications

Your expert supports the agreed research, drafting and review work, using FundRobin to organise the process. You provide evidence, feedback and approval.

  5. Review, refine and progress

Regularly review opportunities, progress and application outcomes. Refine the plan as your funding needs evolve.

What working together looks like

Clear priorities. Shared responsibility. No surprises about scope.

An agreed work plan

We agree deliverables and a regular review rhythm within your consultancy allocation. You can see activities completed, time used and upcoming priorities.

Your knowledge, our support

You provide accurate organisational information, evidence, programme and financial details, and timely feedback. We provide recommendations, research, agreed drafting and review support, and progress updates.

Additional work agreed first

A complex application may need work beyond the ongoing allocation. We scope and agree additional work in advance. You retain final sign-off and submission unless separately agreed.

Why FundRobin?

Bring professional support and your funding workflow together. Research, organisational context, drafts and application progress can support a shared plan rather than become disconnected tasks.

The aim is a more informed, consistent approach to funding, with your team involved throughout. If software alone meets your needs, you can use FundRobin independently.

Your questions, answered.

What is the Grant Funding Partnership?

An optional FundRobin service combining a dedicated grant management expert with our existing funding platform. It brings strategy, research, agreed application support and ongoing pipeline reviews into a collaborative relationship.

Who is the service suitable for?

Charities, nonprofits, social enterprises and other mission-led organisations that need professional funding expertise or additional capacity. The initial consultation helps establish whether your priorities and needs are a suitable fit.

How is it different from using FundRobin alone?

FundRobin provides tools for discovery, matching, reusable organisational knowledge, AI-assisted drafting and grant tracking. The partnership adds professional judgement and agreed hands-on support. You can continue using FundRobin independently; the service is optional.

How is grant consultancy different from grant writing?

Grant writing focuses on preparing an application. Grant consultancy also considers your funding priorities, eligibility, evidence and pipeline, helping you decide which opportunities to pursue before drafting begins. The partnership combines this strategic work with agreed grant writing support.

Can we outsource grant fundraising and stay involved?

Yes. You can add external expertise and capacity while keeping control of your funding priorities and application approvals. This is a collaborative grant funding partnership: your team contributes organisational knowledge, reviews content and retains final sign-off.

Can you help us identify funding and prepare applications?

Yes. Agreed work may include funding research, eligibility and fit reviews, a prioritised pipeline, application narratives, drafting, budget discussions with your finance lead and expert feedback before submission. Quality and relevance come before application volume.

What information will you need from us?

We may review your strategy, programme information, annual reports, financial information, impact evidence and previous applications. We agree what is needed with you. Accurate information and timely feedback help the work progress.

How does ongoing support work?

Support is tailored to your organisation’s funding priorities within an agreed scope and consultancy allocation. Together, we set a work plan, deliverables and regular check-ins, with visibility into completed activities and time used.

What if an application needs more work?

Complex applications can need substantial work beyond the agreed ongoing allocation. Additional application development is scoped and agreed with you in advance. Support is not unlimited and there is no fixed number of applications included.

Will you submit applications for us?

You retain final approval and submission responsibility unless a different arrangement is explicitly agreed. Your team supplies accurate programme and financial information and signs off application content. Submissions are not fully automated.

Can you guarantee funding?

No. Funders make award decisions and grants are competitive. We help you make informed choices and develop well-prepared applications, but cannot guarantee an award.

How do we get started?

Choose an available consultation time in our booking calendar. We will explore your priorities, the support you need and a suitable engagement scope before any work is agreed. Commercial arrangements are discussed in the consultation.
